You know you're a teacher when...

You take up almost a whole bedroom with teaching stuff. I had to laugh when I brought down more books and teaching material into the room to see all of D's hunting stuff laid out neatly on the floor on the other side of the room. I am very lucky to have a man that doesn't mind me putting my teaching things in his room and taking up room in his house. In two weeks it will officially be time for student teaching. I get my teaching placement in one week and I am very excited. YAY!! I love teaching!

Praying I get a job in the upcoming year or else all of this stuff
and more will be still sitting here. :)
Here are some random pictures:
This little girl is such a sweetie.

CHEESE!

My brother is an adult!

Dad's 50th Birthday

My dad is the best dad in the world. He has always been there for me whenever I need to talk, cry, or have a good laugh. He is awesome and I have so many great memories of now and when I was growing up. My dad turned 50 on Friday. He doesn't look 50 at all and he surely doesn't act 50. :) We through a big party for him on Saturday night. It was so much fun to spend time with family and friends celebrating a great man's birthday. Here are some pictures from the party.
My pinterest inspiration. Took pictures of my dad when he was growing up
and made this 50.

Love this cake. Bright and colorful.

My wonderful dad and I.

My grandparents. (My grandpa has a mullet hat on, he thinks
he is funny.)

Weekend Pictures

This past weekend was wonderful. I was on fall break so I had a 5 day weekend since most weeks I don't have class on Fridays. It is great! On Friday my family and I went to the Sabetha High football game against NV. Even though I been out of high school for almost 5 years I still have the rivalry against the school that is 15 minutes west of Sabetha. :) Then Saturday was the big Kansas rivalry, KSU vs KU. Donna, Sam and I left at 6:30 am to get to Manhattan at a good time to tailgate and to freeze our behinds off. It was super cold but we enjoyed every minute of it. I even got to see some of my high school classmates and hang out with them during the 2nd half of the game. GO CATS! Saturday was also Hunter's 1st birthday. I'm so happy I got to see him on his birthday.

My parents, love them so much.

Me: "Kiera let me take a picture of you."
Kiera:"Just wait." (Striking a pose) "Ok I'm ready." :)

This isn't some random picture. I had to take a picture of
Michael Bishop (one in the grey stocking cap and purple coat) for Daniel
to prove I know what I am talking about. Could never get a picture of his face though

Birthday Boy!

I thiknk TD and Rae were more thrilled for the birthday celebrations.

It seems like I take all these pictures of Dora but I never seem to post them. Amy took this last picture when we were taking our save-the-date pictures. She is my baby and I think she is the cutest, sweetest dog. Thank you Amy for the picture!

It has been awhile...

I haven't posted in a long time. There is really no excuse I just haven't thought about my blog. The last couple of weeks though I have been meaning to add a new post but school has been super busy. So I will update on the two things that really are consuming my life right now. This might be a long post so sorry if you are reading this.
Wedding update:

  1. I have my wedding dress ordered!!! It should be at the shop in November. :)
  2. Finally have my DJ booked.
  3. All of my beautiful bridesmaids have found a dress that they liked, and we will order them in December.
  4. We just took our Save-The-Date picture this weekend. I really want to post it but I want them to be a surprise to people when they come in the mail. :)
School update:
  1. I turned in my student teaching application in and put my top three school placements in.
  2. I am teaching my literacy practicum at Auburn Elementary, Kindergarten. I LOVE it.
  3. Only two more months of being at Washburn everyday. :)

Here are some pictures that I have taken in the last month. All of them surround a football games because I stink at taking pictures of my life and the wonderful people in it.
KSU vs Miami...GO CATS!!
I love Friday night lights at SHS.

My birthday landed on a Saturday and home KSU game. I was so
happy even though it wasn't the best game, we still got a W.

My friend Brenna and I. Such a great friend.

Logan marching in homecoming parade.

Bud driving the Keim truck in the parade, with Rae in the passenger seat.
Love the look of  these trucks.

I don't know when it will sink in that Logan is a senior. What!?
This picture makes me laugh...they all looked bored.

Is that real?

That is what went through my head today in seconds. I was over at Daniel's parents this afternoon playing with the kids and helping decorate cupcakes for Bailey's birthday party tomorrow. Bailey and I saw that Daniel was in the yard with Dora. So I grabbed B and went out the back door down the stairs. When I was about to step on the grass I looked down and I saw a snake. First thing that went through my head was that the boys put the fake snake on the grass to scare Ash or Donna, but then I saw the tongue move. I freaked I squeezed on to B and I repeatedly told her, "It's okay, it's okay." I think just to reassure myself. haha While I was squeezing onto B and running to find Daniel (it was quite the sight I'm sure) B asked "Are you joking with me?" and I answered "No sweetie there is a real snake". After I found Daniel and tried to tell him what was going on he walked to the rescue to the back of the house. I ran inside to tell Ash and Stan was going on and to grab my camera.
Standing back because the snake was in attack mode.

Trying to get it out from under the bush.

There it is. YUCK!

We all were enjoying the few from FAR away! :)

This is not your small Garter snake.

What should we do with it?

YAY!! Thank you Daniel!
When I say I'm scared of snakes it is an understatement. I have screamed and ran when seeing a stick on the ground. haha I feel really bad that I was holding B at the time because I think I have made her scared of snakes now too. Well we looked it up and it was just a Garter snake. It was a Common Garter snake. It was a eventful afternoon.

Wedding Planning...

While I was organizing my thoughts and papers of wedding planning I started to laugh at myself.  Wedding binder, Excel spreadsheet ( that is my life right now), Sex and the City (the movie), large tea, and of course wine.
This is what my wedding planning has looked like lately. Besides the XL drink and Sex and the City. :)

Going to Lincoln, NE tomorrow evening to FINALLY see my sister and Sean's wonderful home and get to go wedding dress shopping. YAY!! I think I am more excited for her to try on wedding dresses than I was to try on them for myself.

Daytona Beach

My family and I took a short vaction this past weekend to Daytona Beach, FL. This was going to be the last family with Krista and I's last names still be Lierz. We were really excited to leave but we had to leave super early on Thursday morning. When we got to the hotel we got into our swimming suits and headed out to the beach. I am not too big on the beach and laying out getting hot but I managed since the highest temperature when we were there only seemed to get up to 95. It was really funny talking to people and them complaining about the hit. I would start laughing and say it was a lot cooler here then in Kansas and they were shocked! Here are some pictures of our 4 day vacation. My sister and parents too more than me so I'll end up taking them and posting them sometime.
View from our hotel room.

Heading out to dinner.

Joe's Crab Shack at the end of the Pier.

Hanging out reading Fifty Shades with a beautiful view.

Sisters. (Excuse the sleeked back salt hair)

Dad and I.

Mom and I.

Boats that were right outside the restaurants. The one
on the the right was named "In Therapy" I thought it was cute.

It was bittersweet leaving. :)
Hope you have a great day and rest of the week!
